Crookston, Minn. – Minnesota Crookston volleyball and head coach
Nick Meseck recently announced the Golden Eagles schedule for 2025. Minnesota Crookston won seven games a season ago, including four in the ultra-competitive NSIC and started 2-0 for the first time in nearly a decade.
Minnesota Crookston returns a number of contributors from last years' squad, including a trio of juniors in
Kailee Waasdorp (Jr., DS, West Fargo, N.D.),
Madison Carsten (Jr., OH, Wadena, Minn.) and
Emma Malek (Jr., MH/RS, Plainfield, Ill.) are back, as is redshirt sophomore
Carizma Muth (R-So., OH, Randolph, Wis.).
Minnesota Crookston will have a new assistant coach on the bench, as well, as Mikia Kriener will join Meseck on the bench following a standout career at Augustana.
The 2025 schedule features a number of highlights. The Golden Eagles will open up their season in uncharted waters, as they will head to the East Coast to open up their season for four matches, opening with a Thursday night match at Assumption University in Massachusetts. They will then compete in the Saint Anselm/Southern New Hampshire Tournament for three matches with Saint Anselm College, Felician University and Southern New Hampshire. The Golden Eagles have never played any of those four schools.
The maroon and gold will close their non-conference schedule at the Maverick Invite, hosted by Minnesota State.
The Golden Eagles will play every school in the Northern Sun, including some schools twice; Wayne State College, Augustana, Minnesota State Moorhead, Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State are all featured on the schedule a pair of times.
The Golden Eagles have 10 home matches on the docket, including their home opener with perennial power, Wayne State College on September 19
th at 6 P.M. The Golden Eagles will also be at home for Homecoming for the first time in a number of years, hosting Northern State and the University of Jamestown on Oct. 3-4. The Jimmies and Golden Eagles will meet for the first time in conference play. The home schedule also features a three-match homestand starting on Tuesday, Oct. 21, when the Golden Eagles host Minnesota State Moorhead and then welcome Southwest Minnesota State and Sioux Falls for a pair of weekend matches.
The conference schedule will see the Golden Eagles on the road as well, as they have a three-match road trip in late September and then back-to-back weekends on the road in late October, as is customary in the NSIC. In that four-match road trip, the Golden Eagles have back-to-back matches against Wayne State College and Concordia-St. Paul.
The Golden Eagles will celebrate senior weekend during the final weekend of the regular season, as they will welcome in national power, St. Cloud State and end the regular season with the Mavericks of Minnesota State.
The maroon and gold will open the season on Thursday, Sept. 4 in Worcester, Mass., for a true road game at Assumption.
