Minnesota Crookston Trap Finishes Spring Season in Third

 CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team finished the USA College Clay Target League spring season in third place out of five teams in 1A-Conference 6. The Golden Eagles finished with 508 points in week five for an overall score of 2,826.00. Minnesota Crookston fell to Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, and Alfred State College. They defeated Williston State College, and Maine Maritime Academy. 

Collin Schlomann (Sr., Lake Lillian, Minn.), Eli Devore (Fr., Park Rapids, Minn.), Jayden Bergerson (Jr., Gully, Minn.), Kara Wold (So., Belgrade, Minn.), and Lucas Wavra (Fr., East Grand Forks, Minn.) all connected on 25-straight in the final week of shooting for Minnesota Crookston. Heather Kaup (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) ended the spring season in third place among all female shooters in the USA College Clay Target League with a 23.70 average. Bergerson finished the spring season ninth among male shooters in the conference. Kaup was second in the conference for female shooters, while Ellen Payne (Sr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) finished sixth, Sydney Huwe (Sr., Carver, Minn.) and Rebecca Morstad (Fr., Cavalier, N.D.) tied for seventh, Gracie Lunsetter (Sr., Gatzke, Minn.) notched ninth in the conference.

Bergerson and Wavra both connected on 49-of-50 targets in week five to guide Minnesota Crookston. Kaup and Morstad went 48-of-50. Devore and Ian Larson (Fr.) hit 47-of-50 targets. Payne went 46-of-50. Schlomann connected on 45-of-50 targets. Huwe, Hunter Pierson (Jr., Saint Hilaire, Minn.), Louis Siegel (Jr., Anoka, Minn.), and Wold all went 44-of-50. Ethan Benedict (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn.), Lunsetter, and Braxton Qual (So., Mahnomen, Minn.) went 43-of-50. Kallen Littler (Fr., Bemidji, Minn.), Chase Nelsonm (So., Red Lake Falls, Minn.), and Codey Wolff (Jr., Wadena, Minn.) went 42-of-50. Mackenzie Ondrush (So., Climax, Minn.) was 41-of-50. 

The Golden Eagles graduate nine from their 2024-25 roster, but have a strong core heading into the 2025-26 season.
