CROOKSTON, Minn . - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team remains in second of five teams in 1A-Conference 6 in the USA College Clay Target League. The Golden Eagles notched a tally of 566.5, and sit in second with a total score of 1,815 points. They trail Southwest Wisconsin Technical College with 2,125 points, and lead Alfred State College by 94 points.
Heather Kaup (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) shot a 25-straight round in week three for the Golden Eagles. Ethan Benedict (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn.) is tied for fourth in the conference among males with a 23.67 average. Codey Wolff (Jr., Wadena, Minn.) is tied for 10th among males with a 23.00 average. Kaup is third among females with a 23.33 average. Gracie Lunsetter (Sr., Gatzke, Minn.), and Ellen Payne (Sr., St. Louis Park, Minn.) are tied for sixth with an average of 22.33. Sydney Huwe (Sr., Carver, Minn.) is eighth with a 22.17 average. Kaup is ranked in a tie for fifth among females overall, as well.
Kaup paced the Golden Eagles in week three, hitting 48-of-50 targets. Benedict, and Jayden Bergerson (Jr., Gully, Minn.) each hit 47-of-50 for the week. Huwe, Allison Jepson (So., Frazee, Minn.), Rebecca Morstad (Fr., Cavalier, N.D.), Braxton Qual (So., Mahnomen, Minn.), and Louis Siegel (Jr., Anoka, Minn.) all hit 46-of-50 for the week. Lunsetter, and Wolff went 45-of-50 for the week. Collin Schlomann (Sr., Lake Lillian, Minn.) connected on 44-of-50 targets for the Golden Eagles. Eli Devore (Fr., Park Rapids, Minn.), Austin Hughes (Fr., New York Mills, Minn.), and Chase Nelson (So., Red Lake Falls, Minn.) hit 42-of-50 targets. Payne went 41-of-50, while Nathaniel Siemieniewski (Sr., Climax, Minn.) went 40-of-50.
