SMITHVILLE, Mo. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's golf team claimed their highest-ever finish at the NSIC Tournament, placing tied for seventh out of 12 teams in the field. The tournament was held April 25-27 at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo.
The Golden Eagles shot 118-over-par over three days, defeating Southwest Minnesota State University, University of Mary, Bemidji State University, and Minnesota State University Moorhead. They tied Concordia University-St. Paul. Minnesota Crookston carded a 321 for their best round of the tournament Sunday. They shot their best three rounds in the NSIC Tournament ever, besting their 336 from 2024.
Anaka Lysne (Jr., Wahpeton, N.D.) matched her placing from 2024, finishing tied for 16th. She shot rounds of 80, 83, and 79. Ainsley McLain (So., Grafton, N.D.) carded rounds of 80, 82, and 80 to finish tied for 22nd alongside Clara Hanson (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.). Hanson shot scores of 78, 84, and 80. Lauren Bowyer (Jr., Ivanhoe, Minn.) put up rounds of 88, 86, and 83. Libby Dulmage (So., Leeds, N.D.) carded scores of 89, 93 and 89.
Minnesota Crookston had a strong season with a 331.0 scoring average in 2024-25. Lysne finished with a 79.4 scoring average, while Hanson notched an 81.3 average. Hanson and Denali Johnson (Sr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) are the two seniors in the program.
Minnesota State University won the team title for the first time since 2018-19. Emerson Garlie of Minnesota State was the individual medalist.
