Smithville, Mo. – Minnesota Crookston women's golf jumped up two spots during the final round of the NSIC Conference Preview, finishing 10
th in the 13 team field.
The top-10 finish is the seventh for the Golden Eagles this season, their most in program history.
Augustana won the preview by four strokes, ahead of Wayne State College and 11 strokes ahead of Washburn, who finished in third. Minnesota State and Missouri Western were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Ainsley McLain (So., Grafton, N.D.) was spectacular all tournament long, finishing in a tie for 13
th. It's the second best finish for McLain in her career, as she finished in a tie for sixth earlier this season at the Tracy Lane Memorial. The sophomore moved up four spots during the final round, shooting a 79 on the day, following up a 79 on day one.
Clara Hanson (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.) finished in a tie for 41
st after shooting an 87 on the day.
Anaka Lysne (Jr., Wahpeton, N.D.) moved up seven spots on the day and finished in a tie for 51
st.
There was a tie for first place individually. Victoria Woytassek of Minnesota State and Shannon McCormick of Augustana each finished six over par.
Minnesota Crookston will have one final tournament before the NSIC Championship, as they will attend the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, Neb., hosted by Wayne State College on April 14-15.
