Burnsville, Minn. – For the second year in a row, Minnesota Crookston men's basketball has a player named to an All-NSIC team.
Reid Grant was named to the Second Team All-NSIC earlier today. Grant joins his backcourt partner from a year ago,
Blaize Sagna, as back-to-back All-NSIC team members.
It's the first time in program history that the Golden Eagles have had two different players named to an all-conference team in back-to-back years.
Antwan Kimmons of Concordia-St. Paul was named the NSIC Player of the Year. Kimmons averaged over 24 points, six rebounds and five assists per game this season for the league-leading Golden Bears. Luke Haertle of Winona State was named the Newcomer of the Year and Creighton Morisch of Sioux Falls was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Matt Fletcher was named the NSIC Coach of the Year after leading the Golden Bears to a 20 win season.
What a year it was for Grant. The senior from Johnston, Iowa started all 28 games for the Golden Eagles and was top-five nationally in minutes played per game and had five games this season playing 40 minutes or more, including a school record 47 minutes played against UTampa earlier this year. Grant led the Golden Eagles in minutes played (1032), minutes played per game (36.9), field goals made (159), field goals attempted (429), three-point makes (62), three-point attempts (203), points per game (16.3) and assists (125). Grant was also top-10 in the conference in a number of those categories.
Grant finished the season with 22 games with more than 10 points, including a stretch to end the season where he finished in double-figures in 12 of the Golden Eagles final 13 games. Grant scored a career-high 35 points against Wayne State College. Grant also set a school record for assists in a game with 11 against the Spartans of Tampa.
