Minnesota Crookston Men Fall on Senior Day

Crookston, Minn. – Concordia-St. Paul used an early second half run to upend Minnesota Crookston, 88-73, wrapping up the regular season.

Minnesota Crookston ends the regular season with a 5-23 record.

It was a good start for the Golden Eagles. CSP would jump ahead early by seven, but the Golden Eagles would answer with four straight points on buckets from Jordan Mitchell (R-Sr., C, Columbus, Ohio) and Reid Grant (Sr., G, Johnston, Iowa).

Andrew Stokes (Jr., F, Westchester, Ill.) and Micah Garrett (Jr., G, Portland, Ore.) would give the Golden Eagles a brief one point lead at 15-14.

Midway through the half, Grant would tie the game at 25 with a three.

Late in the half, the Golden Eagles would collect a CSP missed free throw and Grant would bury a three from NBA range, cutting the lead to just four heading into halftime.

Coming out of the halftime break, the Golden Bears would control the half and outscore the Golden Eagles by 11, winning the game by 15.

In their final games as Golden Eagles, Grant and Mitchell were outstanding, combining for 40 points. Stokes added 12 points and five rebounds, while Xzavier Jones (R-Sr., G, Milwaukee, Wis.) added eight points, also playing in his final game of his career.

THANK YOU SENIORS
Minnesota Crookston will lose six outstanding seniors: Grant, Jones, Mitchell, Ben Hoverson (Sr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.), Aguek Deng (R-Sr., F, Des Moines, Iowa) and Pedro Rossi (R-Jr., F, Bahia Blanca, Argentina). Once a Golden Eagle, always a Golden Eagle!
