Crookston, Minn. - The Golden Eagles will play their second season series with the Lake Region State Royals. This time, the Golden Eagles will play one game in Langdon, North Dakota and the other in Devils Lake, North Dakota. Friday will be the second regular season neutral site game of the year for the Golden Eagles. 

The Golden Eagles two games against the Royals earlier this year went extremely well for the Golden Eagles, winning by scores of 6-3 and 3-1. Those games were back in mid-November and the Golden Eagles had only played 10 games going into that series. This matchup will be a big one for the Golden Eagles, as they will look to regain some confidence following the loss to St. Thomas in the WCCHA Third Place Game.

The Golden Eagles Players to Watch this weekend are Mason Romfo (Fr., F, Langdon, N.D.) and Rudy Moser (Fr., F, Langdon, N.D.) who will both be playing back in Langdon for the first time as Golden Eagles on Friday night. This season, Mason Romfo set records for most points by a Golden Eagles rookie in program history, and the most points in a single season for the Golden Eagles program history with 28 goals and 33 assists for 61 points in 27 games. Rudy Moser has been a crucial part of the Golden Eagles depth this year, with four assists in 21 games. For Moser, he has been one of the best shutdown defensive forwards on the Golden Eagles roster all year. When his number is called upon, he goes on the ice and eliminates the opponents offensive attack.

The Golden Eagles and Royals will play Friday, February 14th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 15th at 3:30 p.m. This will be the Golden Eagles final series before they head to La Crosse, Wisconsin for the Central Regional Tournament.
