CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team remained in fourth after the third week of shooting for the USA College Clay Target League fall season. The Golden Eagles are in Class 1A-Conference 7 and have 2,827.5 total points after scoring 889.5 in week three. Minnesota Crookston currently trails Lindenwood University, Alfred State College, and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. They lead Western Technical College by 292 points heading into the final two weeks. The Golden Eagles are also ahead of Lake Area Technical College.
The Golden Eagles were led by Lucas Wavra (So., East Grand Forks, Minn.), who had a 50-straight round for scoring, and 75-straight with practice for a total of 98-of-100. Rebecca Morstad (So., Cavalier, N.D.) also tallied 25-straight in scoring, as did Jayden Bergerson (Sr., Gully, Minn.).
Wavra paced the Golden Eagles hitting 50-of-50 for the week. Morstad went 47-of-50 for Minnesota Crookston. C.J. Walsh (So.) connected on 46-of-50 targets. Codey Wolff (Sr., Wadena, Minn.), and Bergerson went 45-of-50 for the week. Chase Nelson (Jr., Red Lake Falls, Minn.), and Dessa Terning (Fr., Dassel, Minn.) connected on 44-of-50 targets. Ethan Benedict (Sr., Maple Grove, Minn.), and Mackenzie Ondrush (Jr., Climax, Minn.) were 43-of-50 last week. Sydney Huwe (Sr., Carver, Minn.), Allison Jepson (Jr., Frazee, Minn.), and Sarah Reichert (So., Clearbrook, Minn.) hit 42-of-50 targets for week three. Kelsey Harms (Sr., Norwood Young America, Minn.), Payton Homme (Jr., Goodridge, Minn.), and Austin Hughes (So., New York Mills, Minn.) went 41-of-50. Braxton Qual (Jr., Mahnomen, Minn.) connected on 40-of-50 targets.
