Concordia-St. Paul Too Much for Minnesota Crookston in NSIC Men Action on Friday

St. Paul, Minn. – Antwan Kimmons, one of the nation's best scorers, finished with 28 points on 12-18 shooting from the field to lead Concordia-St. Paul past Minnesota Crookston on Friday night, 93-68.
 
Minnesota Crookston falls to 3-14 (2-9 NSIC).
 
CSP would scamper out to a quick 5-0 lead, but J-Mitch, Jordan Mitchell (R-Sr., F, Columbus, Ohio) would finish a layup in the paint, cutting the lead to three.
 
The Golden Bears would lead 11-5, but GD Deng (Jr., G, Des Moines, Iowa) would cash in on his first career three, cutting the lead to three once again.
 
The Golden Bears would take a 25-10 lead, but Aguek Deng (R-Sr., F, Des Moines, Iowa), who was playing in his first game in over a month, would finish a tip-in around the rim.
 
Reid Grant (Sr., G, Johnston, Iowa) and Christian Bowen-Webb (Jr., G, Atchison, Kan.) would connect on back-to-back threes, cutting the lead to just nine at 27-18.
 
The Golden Bears would control the end of the first half and take a 48-26 lead heading into the halftime break.
 
Micah Garrett (Jr., G, Portland, Ore.) would cash in on a three to cut the lead to 16 early on in the second half.
 
Minnesota Crookston would try to chip away, but the Golden Bears would prove to be too much, winning the game by 25.
 
Grant led the way with 13 points on 5-13 shooting, while Mitchell finished with 12 points on an effective 5-7 shooting from the field. Making his first career start, GD Deng finished with three points. Aguek Deng added a season-high nine points off the bench, while Bowen-Webb and Stokes finished with eight and seven, respectively.
 
What's Next
The Golden Eagles will wrap-up their four game road trip at Minnesota Duluth, tomorrow afternoon. Tip-off is set for 3:30 P.M., from Romano Gymnasium.
