Minnesota Crookston Soccer Announces Official Schedule for 2024

CROOKSTON, Minn. 
- The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team officially announced their 2024 slate. The Golden Eagles are set to play 21 games, including three exhibitions, four non-conference tilts, and 14 NSIC tilts.

Minnesota Crookston opens the season with an exhibition against NCAA Division I foe University of North Dakota Wednesday, August 21 at 3 p.m., in Grand Forks, N.D. The Fighting Hawks went 5-7-6 in 2023.

The Golden Eagles will host the University of Minnesota Morris in an exhibition Sunday, August 25 at 1 p.m., in Crookston, Minn. The Cougars were 4-12-2 last season.

Minnesota Crookston will wrap up their exhibition slate on the road Sunday, September 1 at 11 a.m., at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. The Tigers went 6-10-1 in 2023.

The Golden Eagles make their regular-season debut Friday, September 6 at 4 p.m., at Lincoln University of Missouri in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Tigers are in their first season as a program.

Minnesota Crookston will remain in Sioux Falls, S.D., to play the University of Nebraska Kearney Sunday, September 8 at 2 p.m. The Lopers went 3-13-2 a season ago.

The Golden Eagles remain on the road to take on Black Hills State University Sunday, September 15 at 11 a.m., in Spearfish, S.D. The Yellowjackets were 3-12-2 in 2023.

The Golden Eagles open NSIC play Friday, September 20 at Bemidji State University. The Beavers were 13-4-6. 

Minnesota Crookston opens their regular-season home slate Sunday, September 22 at 1 p.m., against the University of Minnesota Duluth. The Bulldogs posted a 6-7-6 mark last season. The game will be Minnesota Crookston's Mental Health Awareness/Suicide Prevention game. 

The Golden Eagles will hit the road Thursday, September 26 to face the University of Sioux Falls at 6 p.m., in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Cougars went 3-11-3 in 2023.

Minnesota Crookston remains on the road Sunday, September 29 to face the University of Jamestown at 12 p.m. The Jimmies are in their last season before entering the NSIC. Jamestown went 5-9-3 a season ago.

The Golden Eagles return home Friday, October 4 at 3 p.m., to take on Southwest Minnesota State University at the Minnesota Crookston Soccer Field. The game will be Youth Day for the squad. The Mustangs are coming off a 6-10-1 mark. 

Minnesota Crookston remains at home Sunday, October 6 at 1 p.m., to face Winona State University at the Minnesota Crookston Soccer Field. The Warriors went 3-7-7 in 2023. They are under first-year head coach Delaney Marier. 

The Golden Eagles will head to Minnesota State University Moorhead Friday, October 11 for the battle for the Highway 75 Rivalry Rock, at 3 p.m. The Dragons were 3-10-5 last season. They are in their first season under the leadership of Scott Forster. 

Minnesota Crookston stays on the road to take on Northern State University Sunday, October 13 at 1 p.m. The Wolves went 9-4-5 in 2023. 

The Golden Eagles will return home Friday, October 18 against the University of Mary at 3 p.m. It will be the Fac/Staff Appreciation Game for the Golden Eagles. UMary was 10-8-3 a season ago.

Minnesota Crookston remains at home Sunday, October 20 to take on Minot State University at 1 p.m. The Beavers went 6-8-4 last season.

The Golden Eagles hit the road again Friday, October 25 at 4 p.m., to face Augustana University. The Vikings were 9-7-3 last season.

Minnesota Crookston remains on their road excursion Sunday, October 27 at 1 p.m., in Wayne, Neb., versus Wayne State College. The Wildcats went 7-8-3 in 2023. 

The Golden Eagles return home to take on Concordia University, St. Paul Friday, November 1 at 2 p.m. The game will be Minnesota Crookston's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Game. The Golden Bears went 9-7-4 a season ago. 

Minnesota Crookston wraps up their home slate Sunday, November 3 with Senior Day against Minnesota State University at 1 p.m. The Mavericks went 11-4-5 last season.

The Golden Eagles conclude the 2024 regular season Thursday, November 7 at 2 p.m., at St. Cloud State University. The Huskies were 14-5-2 in 2023.

Minnesota Crookston is in their second season under Head Coach Neil Mancktelow. Assistant Coach Morgan Philliber also is back on the sideline for the Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles are set to have their largest roster in program history with 27 student-athletes. Minnesota Crookston returns eight starters from the 2023 team, along with seven players who saw time in the starting lineup. Brooklyn Fischbach is the leading returning scorer with two goals. Tessa VanOverbeke had a goal last season, while Sarah Burgum, Marsia Green, Lanie Padelford, and Autumn Rabe all notched assists. Emma Stempien made two starts in net, posting a 4.00 goals against average. In addition to the returnees, the Golden Eagles have 11 new players they have added to the fray.
