CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston tennis team is set to complete their home schedule Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17 at Choice Health and Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D. The matches will also mark the first NSIC tilts for the Golden Eagles this season. Minnesota Crookston faces St. Cloud State University Friday at 5 p.m., and the University of Minnesota Duluth Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Crookston vs. UM Duluth (track.tennis)
The Golden Eagles enter Friday with a 3-0 mark. St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth are both 0-1 this season. Minnesota Crookston is off to their best start in program history. The Golden Eagles fell 5-2 to UMD last season, and 6-1 to St. Cloud State. They last defeated the Bulldogs in 2014, and are seeking their first win against the Huskies.
Minnesota Crookston is propelled by senior Madeleine Schneider (Sr., Gartringen, Germany), a 2023 All-NSIC selection. Schneider is 3-0 at No. 1 singles this season. In doubles, she has paired with Blaike Zander (Jr., Bismarck, N.D.) to go 3-0 at the No. 2 slot. Daniela de Lucas Rivera (Fr.) comes in with an unblemished 3-0 mark at the No. 2 singles spot. She is also undefeated at No. 1 singles with Ariadna Solis Guals (Fr.). At No. 5 singles, Nadia Cases Mundet (Fr.) enters with a 3-0 record. She is 1-0 with both Kavya Singh (Jr., Agra, India) and Kaydance Hinn (Jr., Coon Rapids, Minn.).
The Golden Eagles have wins in 2024 over the University of Minnesota Morris, Bemidji State University, and Concordia College (Minn.).
The Huskies fell 4-3 to Winona State University to open the season. Maria Paz Aoki is 0-1 at the No. 1 singles spot. Brooklyn Broadwell comes in with a 1-0 record at the No. 5 slot, while Lara-Maria Schaefer is 1-0 at the No. 6 spot. In doubles, Paz Aoki and Brewer are 1-0 at the No. 2 spot, while Broadwell and Maria Molitor are 1-0 at No. 3 doubles.
The Bulldogs fell 9-0 to Bethel University to commence the 2024 season. Shay Callaway leads the way at No. 1 singles, where she is currently 0-1. Abby Johnson comes in with an 0-1 record at No. 2 singles, while Carly Chaney is 0-1 at No. 3 singles. In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Johnson and Callaway are 0-1. At the No. 2 spot, Chaney and Brynne Folden are 0-1.
