Charlotte, N.C. – Golden Eagle junior soccer player and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Vice President Sarah Burgum was recently selected as one of three Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Athletes to attend the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum on Nov. 21-24, 2024, in Charlotte, N.C.

Burgum is the second Golden Eagle athlete in the last three years to attend the event; Current SAAC President Tristan Morneault attended the forum in the spring of 2023 in Baltimore, MD.
 
The Forum was created in 1997 and has served as a life-changing experience for more than 5,000 student-athletes who have grown in a personal and professional sense as a result of attending the forum.
 
While attending the forum, Burgum will learn a lot of valuable skills, including being assigned to a 'color team' with 30 other attendees, where they will work in an open environment with trained facilitators to engage in discussions regarding leadership and its many components. Burgum will also participate in community service work, learn about the inner workings of the NCAA and hear from keynote speakers who will share powerful stories and teachings.
 
Each conference office in Division II selects student-athletes from active member schools and an administrator to attend the NCAA Leadership Forum.
