Eau Claire, Wisconsin - Tonight's matchup between the Blugolds and the Golden Eagles had two rookie goalies as the starters. The Blugolds would turn to Matthew Humphrey as he had his eyes set on a third straight win to start his college career. The Golden Eagles called upon Adam Goody (Fr., G, Airdrie, Alberta) for his eighth start, with a fourth straight win in sight.

Things got started early in the night, as Isaac Lidstrom scored the first goal of the night nine minutes in to give the Blugolds the 1-0 lead. Just two minutes would pass by before Fox Dodds (Jr., F, Watford City, N.D.) would even the score with his team leading 18th goal of the season and Zach Larson (Sr., D, Grand Forks, N.D.) would collect his 15th assist of the season. With four and a half minutes remaining in the opening frame, Logan Syrup (Jr., F, Park River, N.D.) would give the Golden Eagles their first lead of the night as he scored his 17th goal of the season, Anthony Foster (Fr., F, Warroad, Minn.) tallied his team leading 27th assist on the season.

The second period saw just one goal, a minute and a half in, as Trevor Willi would make the contest 2-2. The second period did not see another score and the two clubs would head to the third period in a tight contest.

Just over eight and a half minutes into the third and final frame, Fox Dodds would score his second goal of the night, with Logan Syrup and Anthony Foster assisting to give the trio two points each in the game. With seven minutes left, Zach Larson would add to the Golden Eagles lead with a goal and a second point of his own, Dylan Neubauer (Sr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) would collect his sixth assist of the season. With just over a minute remaining, Jackson Fuller (Jr., F, Bloomington, Minn.) scored his 12th goal of the season, with Nate Ayotte (Fr., F, St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba) adding his 10th assist of the season. The Golden Eagles would close out the game with a 5-2 victory, now marking their 11th straight win.
