BURNSVILLE, Minn. – University of Minnesota Crookston women's basketball players Emma Miller (Fr., G, Albertville, Minn.) and Bren Fox (R-Sr., F/C, Norwood Young America, Minn.) were named to the All-NSIC Teams for women's basketball released Thursday, February 23 by the conference office. Miller was named NSIC Freshman of the Year after a stellar season in which she scored 524 points, the most by any Golden Eagle freshman in school history and the third-most by any Golden Eagle player in program history.

Emma Miller

Miller was named All-NSIC First Team, the first Golden Eagle to earn the honor since Isieoma Odor in the 2018-19 season. Miller was second in the NSIC in scoring with 18.1 points per game. She also averaged 4.2 rebounds per tilt, and 3.1 assists per game. Miller set the school-record in a single game with 37 points December 17 against Bemidji State University. Miller scored 20 or more points on 12 occasions during her freshman season. She shot 39.1 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 78.3 percent from the stripe. Miller was also named NSIC Freshman of the Year, the first Golden Eagle to earn a specialty honor since Katrina (Moenkedick) Nordick was named NSIC North Preseason Player of the Year in 2015.

Fox
Fox culminates her phenomenal career in the Maroon and Gold by earning All-NSIC Second Team accolades. Fox became the program's all-time leading rebounder with 876 boards after securing her 13th rebound of the game on Tuesday at the NSIC Tournament against Southwest Minnesota State University. Fox finished the season leading the conference with 9.6 rebounds per game. Fox averaged 10.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game during the season. She also finished her career setting the record for career games played. Fox played five seasons for the Golden Eagles. She is the first All-NSIC Second Team honoree since Micaela Noga in the 2017-18 season.

The Golden Eagle women's basketball team ended the season in the first round of the NSIC Tournament, their fifth time under Mike Roysland, and eighth as a NCAA Division II program making the NSIC Tournament or advancing to the NSIC Quarterfinals in a year where not every team made the tournament. UMN Crookston achieved 10 or more wins for the first time since the 2018-19 season and has a strong pool of young talent slated to return for the 2023-24 campaign.
