BURNSVILLE, Minn. - University of MInnesota Crookston women's basketball player Emma Miller (So., Albertville, Minn.) was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Player of the Week after stand-out performances in victories against Minnesota State University Moorhead, and Northern State University.
Miller earned NSIC Player of the Week honors last season, this is her first for the 2023-24 slate. She has previously been a member of the "Shining 5" from the NSIC. Miller has built on her outstanding freshman season where she was named NSIC Freshman of the Year, and All-NSIC First Team. Last week, she averaged 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in Minnesota Crookston's wins, boosting their mark to 7-5 (4-2 NSIC). She scored 27 points on 9-of-18 shooting in a 72-67 win over Minnesota State University Moorhead, including a clutch trey to give the Golden Eagles a lead with 34 seconds remaining. She was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-6 from the line in the win over the Dragons. She added 14 points, five boards, and two assists in a 69-68 win over Northern State. Miller went 7-of-12 for 58.3 percent from beyond the arc last week. She also hit a clutch triple in the win over the Wolves.
The Golden Eagles return to action Friday, January 5 at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.
