GREENWOOD, Ind. - The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team had three student-athletes named to the  2023 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators. Brooklyn Fischbach (Jr., South St. Paul, Minn.), Greta Saylor (Jr., New Brighton, Minn.), and Jada VanOverbeke (Jr., Hartford, S.D.) were selected to receive the honor for the Golden Eagles. They are the first Golden Eagle soccer players to earn the accolade.

Fischbach has a 3.92 GPA in equine business management. She started all 18 games and led the team with two goals. Saylor has a 4.00 GPA in animal science. She played in 18 games, starting 17 for Minnesota Crookston.  VanOverbeke has a 3.73 GPA in health sciences. VanOverbeke helped anchor the back line for the Golden Eagles, starting 14 games, and playing in 16.

The Academic All-District team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 19 (men) and December 20 (women). The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
