11/18/2023 5:28:00 PM

Crookston, Minn. - Game two of the series against Bethel opened up with the goalies in net as Hunter Hadsock for the Royals and Wyatt Olsonawski (So., G, Hallock, Minn.) who finished out last night's contest.

Zach Larson (Sr., D, Grand Forks, N.D.) opened the scoring less than eight minutes in with a blistering shot from the point. It only took a few minutes for Bethel's Evan Streeter to score his fourth goal of the weekend to even the score. Late into the opening frame, Dylan Neubaer (Sr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) scored his first of the season to head into the second with a lead.

The second period was full of goals, with seven total from the two teams. Opening the scoring less than a minute and a half into the middle frame was Aidan McPhee (Fr., D, Brea, Calif.) Four minutes later, Dylan Borseth (R-Sr., F, Williston, N.D.) found the back of the net and it was 4-1. Jake Huska (Sr., D, Preeceville, Saskatchewan) wasted little time before he added his own tally to the lead. But the Royals would fire back as Evan Streeter found himself alone on a breakaway and was able to slide it past Olsonawski.

Jackson Fuller (Jr., F, Bloomington, Minn.) would rip one home to and the Golden Eagles took a 6-2 lead, this goal would stand as the game winning goal. Blake Nelson got the Royals within three on a late second period goal. Nathan Ayotte (Fr., F, St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba) got one right back for the Golden Eagles before the period expired.

Anthony Foster (Fr., F, Warroad, Minn.) scored just six minutes into the final frame, and then he would score another on a redirection of the shot by Huska just two minutes later. Bethel would get two back, one from Blake Nelson and one from Delfin Cruz, but it did not matter as the Golden Eagles soared to a 9-5 win. The Golden Eagles also outshot the Royals 72-19.

The Golden Eagles will return next Saturday, November 25 at 4 P.M. to open the season series against Williston State College.
