Golden Eagle Hockey Returns Home for Four Straight Weeks. The Golden Eagles are back home this week to take on the University of North Dakota. Last weekend the team traveled to Fargo to take on the North Dakota State Bison, the Golden Eagles swept the series with wins of 8-2 and 6-1.
Foster Finds His Stride. Anthony Foster (Fr., F, Warroad, Minn.) had a weekend to remember. He and his fellow linemates, Tyler Zahradka (Sr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) and Fox Dodds (Jr., F, Watford City, N.D.) were the most dominant line in both games over the weekend. On Friday night, Foster tallied four points, notching the first goal of his collegiate career and added on three assists. Despite not getting on the scoresheet on Saturday, Foster still dominated the offensive zone with chances and great forecheck.
The Goalies Stand Tall. The Golden Eagles were the beneficiaries of outstanding goaltending in both of their games against the Bison, as Jared Aamold (Jr., G, Breckenridge, Minn.) stopped 32 out of 34 shots against on Friday and Wyatt Olsonawski (So., G, Hallock, Minn.) had 20 saves on 21 shots against in Saturday's contest. Both goalies made key saves in big moments early to keep their team ahead.
Huska Shuts it Down. Jake Huska (Sr., D, Preeceville, Minn.) spoke on being back on a defensive pairing with Parker Sunderland (Jr., D, Bagley, Minn.) and said that they are "starting to get some of that chemistry that they had last year." The two of them had two phenomenal games over the weekend, but Saturday was special. The pairing barely allowed any shots to get through when they were on the ice together and were able to help maintain possession in the offensive zone for longer.
Series Outlook
- The Golden Eagles are 6-0-1 in the all-time series.
- The Golden Eagles have won the last two games.
