WAYNE, Neb. – The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team fell 3-0 to Wayne State College (Neb.). The Wildcats scored two in the first half and added two goals in the second to secure the victory.
Minnesota Crookston drops to 1-7-0 (0-5-0 NSIC) with Friday's loss in Wayne, Neb. The Wildcats improved to 1-5-2 (1-3-1 NSIC) following the win at the WSC Soccer Complex.
Minnesota Crookston had seven shots, with four shots on goal. Wayne State tallied 17 shots, with seven shots on goal. The Golden Eagles had one corner, while Wayne State had five.
The Golden Eagles were led by 
Madelyn Teplansky (Jr., MF, Apple Valley, Calif.) with three shots, and one shot on goal. 
Morgan Laplante (Sr., F, De Soto, Kan.) added two shots, with one on goal.
Wayne State scored in the eighth minute with a goal from Annika Syvrud. The Wildcats added a goal in the 52
nd minute when Syvrud struck again, off an assist from Reagan Allen. Wayne State added a security goal in the 81
st minute from Leah Bennett.
Kathryn Brainerd (Sr., GK, Corcoran, Minn.) allowed three goals Friday, with four saves. Sidney Truman played 29:25 for the Wildcats, with no goals allowed and no saves. Hayden Wallace didn't allow a goal in 60:25 and had four saves.
The Golden Eagles return to the soccer pitch Sunday, September 25 at Augustana University at 1 p.m.
