Box Score SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team fell 5-0 to Augustana University Sunday, September 25. The Vikings scored four goals in the first half and tallied one more in the second.
Minnesota Crookston falls to 1-8-0 (0-6-0 NSIC) with Sunday's loss. Augustana improves to 3-4-2 (3-2-1 NSIC).
The Vikings finished with 31 shots, 17 on goal. Minnesota Crookston had two shots, with one on goal. Augustana had eight corners, with two for the Golden Eagles.
The Vikings struck first in the second minute when Morgan Keirstead scored. In the 18
th minute, Josie Arduser connected on a penalty kick goal to make it 2-0. Augustana extended the advantage to 3-0 in the 27
th minute when Bailey McCullough added a tally. In the 40
th minute, Ally Hamski scored off assists from Sierra Barkus and Ally Young to push the lead to 4-0.
Augustana scored the final goal in the 67
th minute off a goal from Grace Douglas.
Jenna Custer (Fr., MF/F, Queen Creek, Ariz.) had one shot on goal.
Jacqueline Calderon (Jr., MF, Indio, Calif.) added a shot.
Brooklyn Fischbach (So., GK, South St. Paul, Minn.) started in goal and allowed five goals, with 12 saves.
Jillian Barkus started for the Vikings, with one save. She picked up the shutout.
Minnesota Crookston heads to St. Cloud State University Friday, September 30 for a 6 p.m. tilt.
