CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team is set to host Northern State University Wednesday, May 4 at 1 and 3 p.m. The doubleheader is slated to be the first at home for the Golden Eagles since Sunday, April 10. The Golden Eagles have had several games canceled or relocated due to inclement weather.
The Golden Eagles enter the mid-week games with a 15-25 (7-14 NSIC) record. UMN Crookston is currently in 12
th place in the NSIC standings. Minnesota Crookston still has a route to the NSIC Tournament. The Golden Eagles have to do no worse than 4-1 in their last five games. In addition, the University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Mary, and Northern State University would have to be no better than 1-4. Wayne State College and Concordia University-St. Paul could do no better than 2-3.
Northern State comes into the weekend with a 15-21 (10-13 NSIC) record. The Wolves are currently in ninth place in the NSIC standings, one spot out of the tournament. Minnesota Crookston has won three-straight in the series. The last win for the Wolves came April 24, 2019 with a 10-4 win in Moorhead, Minn. The two teams played in non-conference earlier this season in Auburndale, Fla. The Golden Eagles picked up the 8-3 win.
