CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's tennis team will hit the road to face University of Sioux Falls and Augustana University. The Golden Eagles will take on the Cougars Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m., and the Vikings Saturday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Greatlife Woodlake Athletic Club in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Golden Eagles come in with a 2-8 mark on the season, their best record since 2014. Augustana is ranked No. 17 and they come in with a 13-1 record. Sioux Falls enters the weekend with an 8-6 mark.
Minnesota Crookston is propelled by
Madeleine Schneider (So., Gartringen, Germany), who is 5-5 at the No. 1 singles spot, the best record at the No. 1 position since Catherine Brown in 2016.
Ashley Chomyn (Jr., Winnipeg, Manitoba) comes in with an unblemished 5-0 mark at No. 6 singles.
Tasha Achermann (So., Motley, Minn.) is 3-7 at the No. 4 spot.
In doubles, the No. 3 pairs of
Kaydance Hinn (Fr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) and
Michelle Swyter (Jr., Perham, Minn.), and Hinn and Achermann, are both 3-2 on the season.
The Vikings are lifted by Florentia Hadjigeorgiou, who is 12-0 at the No. 2 singles spot. At the No. 1 position, Valeriya Monko comes in with a 10-4 record. In doubles, the duo of Monko and Hadjigeorgiou is 11-3 at the No. 1 slot. At No. 2 doubles, Laura Arce Vieyra and Gabriela Jancikova are 11-3.
USF is led by Talia Janos, who is 4-1 at the No. 1 spot. At No. 6 singles, Katelyn Nesheim comes in with a 6-1 record. In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Janos and Megan Quandt enters with a 5-2 record.
