CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's tennis team will compete in a non-conference match with Bethany Lutheran College Friday, March 25 at 5 p.m. at Choice Health & Fitness in Grand Forks, N.D.
The Golden Eagles come in with a 1-8 mark. UMN Crookston has posted their best season since 2014, picking up their first team victory since March 29, 2014 with a 7-0 win over Stevenson University March 14. UMN Crookston has been competitive in both doubles and singles so far this season.
Madeleine Schneider (So., Gartringen, Germany) comes in with a 4-5 mark at No. 1 singles this season, posting the best mark since Catherine Brown in 2016.
Ashley Chomyn (Jr., Winnipeg, Manitoba) is 4-0 at No. 6 singles for the Golden Eagles, while
Tasha Achermann (So., Motley, Minn.) is 2-7 at the No. 4 slot.
In doubles, the No. 3 duo of
Kaydance Hinn and
Michelle Swyter is 3-2, while the No. 3 duo of Achermann and Hinn are 2-2.
The Vikings of Bethany Lutheran are 0-2 during the 2022 season. They fell 9-0 to Saint Mary's University February 26 and 6-3 to Cornell College March 19.
In singles, at the No. 3 spot Olivia Pfeffer is 1-1 for the Vikings. Shoshana Bruner has been playing at the No. 1 slot and is 0-2. In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Bruner and Emma Newton is 0-2.
