CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's tennis team will compete in two conference matches this weekend as they take on Southwest Minnesota State University Saturday, February 12 at 2:30 p.m., and Minnesota State University, Mankato Sunday, February 13 at 1:30 p.m. The matches will be played at West Hills Tennis & Fitness Center in Owatonna, Minn.
The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with a 0-2 mark, but they showed great growth in their first two matches of the 2022 season. Southwest Minnesota State enters the weekend with a 6-1 record. Minnesota State comes into the weekend with a 6-2 mark.
Minnesota Crookston is propelled by
Madeleine Schneider (So., Gartringen, Germany), a transfer from Drury University. Schneider is 2-0 at No. 1 singles. She has the best singles mark at the No. 1 slot since Catherine Brown in 2016.
Tasha Achermann (So., Staples, Minn.) is 1-1 at No. 4 singles after picking up a win over the University of Minnesota Duluth last weekend.
In doubles, the No. 3 pair of
Kaydance Hinn (Fr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) and
Michelle Swyter (Jr., Perham, Minn.) is 1-1 after a victory over Minnesota Duluth last weekend.
Southwest Minnesota State is led at No. 1 singles by Courtenay Leonard with a 4-2 mark. Marisol Palacio comes in with a 3-2 record at the No. 6 slot. In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Leonard and Maja Louisa Harck is 3-2.
Minnesota State is lifted by Tristen Bryant-Otake, with a 6-1 record at No. 1 singles. Hana Minisy comes in with a 5-0 record at the No. 4 slot. In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Bryant-Otake and Avery Stillwell is 3-1, while Bryant-Otake and Minisy come in with a 3-0 record.
