Crookston, Minn. – Nothing fazes Minnesota Crookston men's hockey. After getting beat by Minnesota on Saturday night in Minneapolis, the Golden Eagles bounced back nicely and picked up a huge split on Sunday, beating the Golden Gophers, 6-2, in dominating fashion. It was a much needed win for Minnesota Crookston, who kept pace behind Minnesota in the Northwest Division in the WCCHA.
The Golden Eagles will be back at home this weekend as they host North Dakota State on Friday and Saturday. Friday night's game will be the first annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans who bring a Teddy Bear to the game get in for free to the game. The Teddy Bears will be thrown on the ice after the first Golden Eagle goal.

The Golden Eagles have gotten a breakout season from a pair of sophomores.
Logan Syrup (So., F, Park River, N.D.) and
Jackson Fuller (So., F, Minneapolis, Minn.) have been outstanding. It was a five-point weekend for Syrup, who scored five goals in the two games, including his third hat-trick of the season and second in as many weeks. Syrup has five games with three or more points in 2022-23. Syrup has catapulted himself into the top-20 in points. He is currently 20
th in the nation with 33 points scored and 16
th with 17 goals. Fuller is tied for second with 22 points and scored four points on the weekend, including three points on Saturday.
Casey Kallock (Sr., D, Alvarado, Minn.) also has 22 points on the season and is second with 15 assists.
Tyler Zahradka (Jr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.),
Zach Larson (Jr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) and
Dylan Borseth (Sr., F, Williston, N.D.) are each averaging a point per game on the season.
Minnesota Crookston has gotten outstanding goaltending to go along with their goal-scoring.
Jake Sumner (Jr., G, Alta Loma, Calif.),
Jared Aamold (So., G, Breckenridge, Minn.) and
Braden Schmitz (So., G, Devils Lake, N.D.) have each played in four or more games on the season, with Aamold leading the way with seven games played. Sumner is a perfect 4-0 on the season, while Aamold is 5-1. Schmitz is 2-1 on the season. As a group, the Golden Eagles have allowed just 2.79 goals per game.
