Minneapolis, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston will continue a trend of one weekend at home and one weekend on the road this weekend when they travel to the University of Minnesota for a Saturday-Sunday series. Since the announcement that hockey would be returning to the campus of Minnesota Crookston three years ago, the Golden Eagles are off to their best start with 11 wins in their first 12 games.
The Golden Eagles already have five sweeps on the season and have won five in a row since their last loss to Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The Golden Gophers lead the all-time series, 2-1, including a win to eliminate the Golden Eagles in the WCCHA Playoffs last season. The Gophers were just one of two teams to shut out the Golden Eagles last year.
