Kearney, Neb. – Minnesota Crookston women's basketball was looking to end their trip to Kearney, Neb., with a win over Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats would use an 11-point advantage at the break to the finish line for a 70-58 victory.

Both teams would start the first quarter going back-and-forth.
Emma Miller (Fr., G, Albertville, Minn.) would score the first points of her career day with a layup for the first points of the game for the Golden Eagles.
NMSU would go up by six at 12-6, but a Miller layup and an
Alex Page (So., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) layup would propel a 5-0 run to cut it to just one at 12-11.
The Bearcats would close out the quarter by scoring the last six to take an 18-11 lead heading into the quarter break.
The Bearcats would eventually lead 29-14, but
Natalie Mikrot (Fr., G, Willow River, Minn.) would cut the lead to just 12 with a corner three right in front of her bench.
Nicole Hernandez (Jr., F, Oak Creek, Wis.) would make a layup to send the Golden Eagles into the halftime break down by just 10.
In the third, the Golden Eagles would see themselves down by as many as 17 on two different occasions, but they would try to answer back late in the third quarter.
The Golden Eagles would get back within 12 after
Janie Tormanen (Fr., F, Menahga, Minn.) would score a pair of her career-high 12 points.
In the fourth quarter, the Bearcats would have an answer for every call, winning, 70-58.
Minnesota Crookston was led by Miller, who had 17 points on 8-13 shooting from the field, while also dishing out four assists. Another freshman, Tormanen, finished with 12 points on a perfect 6-6 from the field.
Minnesota Crookston shot just over 38 percent from the field.

The Golden Eagles will have their home opener on Thursday night, as they welcome in non-conference foe, Northern Michigan for a 6 P.M., tip-off.
