Crookston, Minn. – Minnesota Crookston hockey bounced back in a big way, using three power play goals to earn the series split, 5-1.
Minnesota Crookston continues their blazing start, moving to 7-1 on the season.
Much like they did in the first period yesterday, Wisconsin Eau-Claire would strike first on an Isaac Lindstrom goal.
Casey Kallock (Sr., D, Alvarado, Minn.) would score late in the first period to knot things up at one.
In the second period, it wouldn't take long for Kallock to score on the power play, scoring just 20 seconds into the second period. That goal was assisted by
Zach Larson (Jr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) and
Logan Syrup (So., F, Park River, N.D.). That goal would turn out to be the game winning goal.
We would head to the third period with the Golden Eagles up by a goal.
Jackson Fuller (So., F, Minneapolis, Minn.) would score for the second straight night, on the power play, putting the Golden Eagles up by a pair.
Five minutes later,
Griffen Sonstegard (Fr., D, Baudette, Minn.) would take a great bounce on his stick and deposit it past Francisco Gomez for the second power play goal of the period and third overall.
Larson would put the game away with an empty net goal at the 17:13 mark of the third period.
Kallock finished with two goals and an assist, while Syrup continued his fast start to the season with a pair of assists. Syrup now has 19 points on the season.
Jake Sumner (Jr., G, Alta Loma, Calif.) was outstanding in goal, picking up his third win, making 26 saves in the game.
