CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team will trek to St. Cloud, Minn., to face St. Cloud State University Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25 at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, Minn. The Golden Eagles come in with a No. 24 national ranking. The Golden Eagles played the Huskies twice in non-conference play, winning both games 10-9 and 15-11 March 7 and 8 in Fort Scott, Kan.
The Golden Eagles come into the weekend with a 17-3 (12-3 NSIC) mark. St. Cloud State is 12-10 (10-7 NSIC) coming into Saturday. Minnesota Crookston has continued their best start in program history. The Golden Eagles are currently in second place in the NSIC standings. St. Cloud State enters Saturday in sixth place in the NSIC.

Minnesota Crookston has earned their first-ever national ranking during the 2021 season. The Golden Eagles are coming off a split with Southwest Minnesota State Thursday after not playing a game in 10 days due to cancelations due to COVID protocols.
The Golden Eagles come into the weekend hitting .283 as a team. They have a .964 OPS on the season. Minnesota Crookston set the school record for home runs in a season, breaking the mark on Thursday. They now have 40 home runs on the year. UMN Crookston is paced by
Brock Reller (Sr., OF, Grand Forks, N.D.), who is batting .368 with a 1.332 OPS, and a .842 slugging percentage. Reller has 24 runs scored, five doubles, two triples, a team-high nine home runs, and 29 RBIs.
Jake Hjelle (R-Fr., 1B, East Grand Forks, Minn.) comes in hitting .347 on the season with a 1.144 OPS. Hjelle has 25 runs scored, five doubles, seven home runs, and 23 RBIs.
Landyn Swenson (R-Sr., OF, Devils Lake, N.D.) has been an ace in the nine-hole for the Golden Eagles. He is batting .313 with a 1.006 OPS. He has scored 16 runs, and has 16 RBIs.
Mason Ruhlman (R-Sr., 2B, Algonac, Mich.) comes in hitting .290 with four home runs, and 17 RBIs.

Jake Dykhoff (Jr., RHP, Wadena, Minn.), who is 4-0 with a 1.54 ERA in 35.0 innings pitched.
Conner Richardson (R-So., RHP, Grand Forks, N.D.) comes in with a 5.91 ERA in 21.1 innings pitched.
Jake Osowski (R-Fr., RHP, East Grand Forks, Minn.) is 3-0 with a 3.29 ERA. Out of the bullpen,
Brody Sorenson (Fr., RHP, Grand Forks, N.D.) is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA in 12 innings pitched. He has four saves on the season.
Garrett Hohn (R-Sr., RHP, Wausau, Wis.) is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA in six innings pitched.
St. Cloud State Preview
The Huskies are coming off a mid-week sweep of Bemidji State University. Last weekend, they lost their single game played with University of Minnesota Duluth.
St. Cloud State is hitting .320 on the season with 171 runs scored, 37 doubles, six triples, 30 home runs, and 155 RBIs. The Huskies look to Jake Shusterich, who is hitting .390 on the season, with 17 runs scored, four home runs, and 17 RBIs. Matt Quade comes in batting .389 with 11 runs scored, four home runs, and 24 RBIs. Tyler Schiller is batting .361 with 10 runs scored, and 21 RBIs, while John Nett is batting .346 with 28 runs scored, three home runs, and 19 RBIs.
The St. Cloud State pitching staff comes in with a 4.23 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP. Luke Tupy is 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA in 17.0 innings pitched to lead the starters. Trevor Koening comes in with a 1-3 mark and a 2.70 ERA in four starts, while Matt Osterberg is 1-2 with a 3.62 ERA in five starts. Out of the bullpen, Jake Habeck paces the team with a 5-1 mark and a 1.61 ERA in 22.1 innings of work. The Huskies have struck out 172, with just 74 walks on the season.
