Bemidji, Minn. – Head Coach
Krayton Nash and his Golden Eagles tennis team head down Highway-2 this Saturday and Sunday for two matches with St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth. The match with the Huskies on Saturday is 5 P.M., while the Bulldogs and Golden Eagles will meet on Sunday morning at 9 A.M.
The Golden Eagles are 0-7 on the season, but haven't competed in almost a month, when they were in Winona for a pair of matches with Winona State and Upper Iowa. The Golden Eagles lost both matches.
UMN Crookston is led by
Tasha Achermann (Fr., Motley, Minn.) at the No. 1 singles spot. At No. 1 doubles, Achermann has been pairing with
Michelle Swyter (Jr., Perham, Minn.) so far this season.
The Huskies come into this weekend with a 3-6 record, after defeating the College of Saint Benedict, 5-4 in their last match. Hina Goldsmith leads the Huskies in singles, who has been at the top position for all of the Huskies' matches. In doubles, Goldsmith has also been at the top position, being partnered with Jill Kedrowski for a majority of the season.
For the Bulldogs, they are 1-5 on the season and have a match with Wisconsin-Superior tomorrow before the matches this weekend. In singles, Natalie Cahill and Shay Callaway are both undefeated on the season. Cahill has been at the No. 2 spot for the entire season. In doubles, Abby Johnson and Emily Rahrik are undefeated at 4-0. The lone match win for the Bulldogs was a 6-1 victory over Minnesota State.
