Duluth, Minn.,-- Last Friday night, the Golden Eagles shot lights out in the state capital of Bismarck to knock off UMary. This Friday, the Golden Eagles were looking to do the same this Friday night in Duluth as they took on the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth. The Bulldogs used a giant second half to upend Minnesota Crookston, 81-65.
With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 2-9 (1-8 NSIC), while the Bulldogs improve to 3-5 overall (2-5 NSIC).

Ibu Jassey Demba (Sr., F, Birmingham, England) and
Brian Sitzmann (R-Jr., G, Savage, Minn.) would each bury shots from deep to give the Golden Eagles a five point lead at 13-8 midway through the first half.
A
Leonard Dixon (Jr., F, Demascus, Ore.) layup would give the Golden Eagles a 28-21 lead late in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs would cut the lead to just one and would eventually take a lead, but the young Golden Eagles would fight back. A Sitzmann layup and a thunderous
Quintin Winterfeldt (So., G, Waupun, Wis.) dunk would give Minnesota Crookston a two point lead heading into the halftime break.
Coming out of the halftime break, it would be all Bulldogs.
Standout sophomore Drew Blair gave the Bulldogs the lead for good with an old-fashioned three point play.
A Dilling jumper from the left elbow would get the Golden Eagles within one at 41-40.
The Bulldogs would extend their lead to 10 at 54-44, but a Dixon three with the shot clock winding down would cut the UMD lead to just seven at 54-47.
The Golden Eagles would continue to chip into the Bulldog lead, this time with the help of yet another Dilling jumper, making it 54-49 UMD.
Trailing by nine, Winterfeldt would score five straight points to cut the Bulldog lead to just four.
Down the stretch, UMD would just make too many plays, pulling away for their 16 point victory.
