WINONA, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Winona State University at the Winona Tennis Center in Winona, Minn.
The Golden Eagles fall to 0-6 with the loss Saturday, February 27, as the Warriors move to 3-2 with the victory.
In doubles, the duo of
Tasha Achermann and
Michelle Swyter fell 6-0 to Rachel Kelly and Rina Niehoff. At the No. 2 spot,
Ashley Chomyn and
Gabriela Pinto fell 6-0 to Brooke Jorgensen and Beth Murman. At the No. 3 slot,
Karli Renney and
Samantha Hartung fell 6-0 to Faith Young and Sara Anderson.
In singles, Achermann put up a battle in the first set against Murman, but fell 6-2, 6-0. At the No. 2 spot, Swyter was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Kelly. At No. 3 singles, Chomyn was beaten 6-0, 6-0 by Niehoff. At the No. 4 spot, Renney fell 6-0, 6-0 to Jorgensen. At No. 5 singles, Hartung was defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Young. At the No. 6 slot, Pinto fell 6-0, 6-0 to Brooke Holloway.
Minnesota Crookston returns to action Sunday, February 28 against Upper Iowa University in Winona, Minn.
