TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women's basketball team was ranked 10th in the D2SIDA Central Region Poll released Mon., Dec. 3. The regional ranking is the first in recent history for the Golden Eagles as they continue to be off to their best start since the 2004-05 season with a 6-1 mark. Minnesota Crookston opened up their NSIC slate with a 70-61 win over Bemidji State last Saturday.
The Golden Eagles received seven points in the poll. Minnesota Crookston had previously received votes in the last two D2SIDA Central Region polls. Augustana University led NSIC teams as the fourth-ranked team in the region. University of Sioux Falls was slotted one spot ahead of the Golden Eagles in ninth, while the Golden Eagles were 10th. Minnesota State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead each received one vote in the poll.
Minnesota Crookston opens their NSIC home slate Fri., Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. against MSU Moorhead at Lysaker Gymnasium. The Golden Eagles will take on Northern State Sat., Dec. 8 at 3:30 p.m. in Crookston, Minn.
