Golden Eagles fall 6-0 to Wayne State College

Wayne, Neb.—The University of Minnesota Crookston women's soccer team fell to Wayne State College 6-0 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Wildcats and Golden Eagles were tied at zero for the first thirty minutes, but the Wildcats got the scoring started at 30:58 of the first half, as Christina Stasi scored her third goal of the season on a crossing pass from Sophia Ketchmark.
 
WSC wouldn't be done in the first half. Brooke Buzzell made it 2-0, as she was in the right place at the right time, as she tapped in the rebound off a shot from Rylie Wehner. The Wildcats led 2-0 after the first half.
 
Megan Phillips, Brooke Buzzell and Amanda Clements each added a goal in the second half in the Wildcats victory.
 
Athena DiMario Done (So. Windsor, Ontario) got the start in net for Minnesota Crookston and made eight saves on the day. With the loss, DiMario Done's record now sits at 1-7-2.
 
Tyler Goodwin (Fr. Covina, Calif.) recorded the Golden Eagles' one shot on the day.
 
WSC outshot Minnesota Crookston 26-1 and had five more corner kicks than the Golden Eagles. Wayne State recorded 11 fouls, while Minnesota Crookston recorded nine.
 
With the loss, the Golden Eagles fall to 1-13-2 overall, and 1-10-2 in the NSIC. Meanwhile, the Wildcats improve to 4-10-1 overall, and 4-8-1 in NSIC play.
 
Minnesota Crookston has one more weekend left in the regular season. Northern State will trek their way up to Crookston for a Friday afternoon match. That match is set for 2 p.m. The Golden Eagles then head to Moorhead for their final match of the season with a match against the Dragons. That one is set 1 p.m.
