Sioux Falls, S.D.—The University of Minnesota Crookston women's soccer team fell to Augustana University 7-0 on Friday afternoon at Morstad Field.
The Vikings scored fast and furious against the Golden Eagles, including an unassisted goal in the opening seconds from Morgan Kierstead.
The Vikings would score five minutes later on a goal from Grace Behm, with an assist from Reiley Klose. Claire Dahm, and Kenzie Geiger would add goals for the Vikings in the first half for a 4-0 lead at the break.
Behm would add her second goal of the game early on in the second half. Jensen Froehlich and Shannon McKnight would add two goals late in the second half to make it a 7-0 Viking victory.
Behm would finish the afternoon with nine shots, and two goals on the day, while Keirstead finished the day with two shots and one goal.
Geiger, Dahm and Froehlich would come off the bench for Augie and each score a goal in the match.
For the Golden Eagles,
Olivia Puttin (Jr. Rogers, Minn.) would get the start in net, and make nine saves in the match.
Tyler Goodwin (Fr. Covina, Calif.) recorded the only shot on the day.
With the loss, Minnesota Crookston falls to 1-12-2 overall, and 1-9-2 in NSIC play. The Vikings improve to 10-3-2 overall, and 9-2-1 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles are back in action Sunday afternoon, as they head to Wayne State, for a match with the Wildcats. That match is set for 1 p.m.
