CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team trek down U.S. Highway 2 to face Bemidji State University in a doubleheader Tues., April 11 at BSU Baseball Field in Bemidji, Minn. The Golden Eagles will play the Beavers at 2 and 4 p.m.

Minnesota Crookston comes into the week with a 14-18 (8-12 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles are in a tie for 11^th in the NSIC standings. Bemidji State enters Tuesday with a 10-18 (7-9 NSIC) record. The Beavers are one spot ahead the U of M Crookston 10^th place putting even more weight on Tuesday's match-up.

The Golden Eagles come into the weekend hitting .245 on the season. They struggled hitting Augustana University's pitching last weekend but will look to bounce back Tuesday against Bemidji State. Minnesota Crookston is led by Reed Hjelle (So., 1B, East Grand Forks, Minn.), who is hitting .330 with 16 runs scored and 17 RBI's. Anthony Stewart (R-Jr., OF, Oak Harbor, Wash.) is one of the conference's most dangerous lead-off hitters. Stewart is hitting .298 with a team-high 27 runs scored with five doubles and a team-leading four home runs with a team-high 21 RBI's. In addition, James Cullinane (Jr., OF, San Francisco, Calif.) comes in batting .261 with 16 runs scored and nine RBI's.

On the bump, the U of M Crookston has been led by their closer Zach Seipel (So., RHP, Eagan, Minn.), who leads the league with six saves. Seipel has posted a 0-2 mark with a 1.50 ERA in 18.0 innings pitched. Parker Hanson (So., RHP, Hawley, Minn.) has posted a 2-1 record with a 3.52 ERA in 46.0 innings pitched.

Bemidji State is hitting .259 on the season with six home runs, 14 RBI's and 132 runs scored. The Beavers have been led by Scott Litchy, who is hitting .411 on the season with six home runs and 19 RBI's.
