Crookston, Minn.- The Golden Eagle soccer team closed out their 2016 season with a, 2-0, loss to St. Cloud State University Sunday afternoon. The loss puts a close to a season where UMC finished up with an overall record of 3-13-2, 2-11-2 in the NSIC.
The Huskies outshot the Golden Eagles, 9-5, with SCSU getting five shots on target and UMC getting three of their shots on goal. Senior forward,
Kallie Gau (Monticello, Minn./Early Childhood and Elementary Education) again led her team in shots with two, one of which was on net.

Lexie Gauger (Green Bay, Wisc./Criminal Justice) made her final start of her college career where she made three total saves. Fellow seniors

Samantha Deutsch (Lakeville, Minn./Accounting and Finance) all made their final appearances in the maroon and gold, with all five in the starting lineup.
The Huskies opened up the games scoring in the 14
th minute of play as Sarah Benhart (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill.) finished off a Maria Kass (So., Pewaukee, Wisc.) pass that was from close in. Kass then got the insurance goal in the game's 86
th minute as she headed in a free kick taken by Jordan Loya (So., Sugar Land, Texas).
