Box Score Crookston, Minn.- After a well fought battle, the University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team fell, 1-0, to Minot State University on Saturday. Although the Beavers outshot the Golden Eagles 13-6, the game was about even in quality scoring chances as each team had four very good opportunities in the NSIC weekend match up.

Lexie Gauger (Green Bay, Wisc./Criminal Justice) got the start in net for UMC where she made five total saves. The only ball to get past the junior keeper was off a corner kick that was finished off, point blank, by Emilie Rebelo (Sr., Sacramento, Calif.) in the game's 55
th minute of play.

UMC pushed late with a trio of good opportunities, but
Courtney Armborst's (Sr., West St. Paul, Minn./Biology) shot the hit the cross bar and fellow senior
Delaney McIntyre's (Flin Flon, Manitoba/Sport and Recreation Management) blast was deflected and went for a corner kick. The Golden Eagles had one other late opportunity but MSU's second half keeper, Celene Johnson (Sr., Rocklin, Calif.) beat Golden Eagle frosh forward,

UMC will return to the pitch tomorrow where they will host a University of Mary team who was knocked off, 2-0, by Bemidji State University earlier Saturday. The NSIC match features a UM team with a record of 0-3-1, (0-2 NSIC) and a Golden Eagle team that is looking for their first win as their record stands at 0-4-1, (0-2 NSIC).
