CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team will face Upper Iowa University March 28 and 29 at Robertson Woods Field in Fayette, Iowa. The Golden Eagles and Peacocks will face-off at 12 and 2 p.m. March 28 and 12 and 2 p.m. March 29. The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with a 6-13 (0-4 NSIC) mark on the season. Upper Iowa is 7-9 (0-4 NSIC) entering the weekend.

Minnesota Crookston and Upper Iowa have already played once this season with the Peacocks defeating UMC 9-8 at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Fla. Upper Iowa won the game in 14 innings on a Tyus Adkins triple to drive in Jake Stenberg to earn the win in the game that last over four hours March 14.

The Golden Eagles are hitting .307 as a team coming into the weekend. Jesse Jennings (Sr., OF, Robbinsdale, Minn./Criminal Justice) has led UMC with a .390 batting average. Jennings has 10 runs scored, one double, two triples and eight runs batted in (RBI's). He is reaching base at a .537 clip, which is currently tied for second in the NSIC. In addition to Jennings, Ethan Mushitz (Fr., SS, East Grand Forks, Minn./Criminal Justice) is hitting .382 with 17 runs scored and 12 RBI's, while Ryan Haggstrom (Jr., 1B/P, Apple Valley, Minn./Accounting) is hitting .359 with 20 runs scored and 16 RBI's.

On the mound, UMC has been led by Nolan Wahlberg (Jr., RHP, Blaine, Minn./Criminal Justice). Wahlberg is 3-2 with a 4.41 earned runs average (ERA ) in 32.2 innings pitched. UMC's bullpen has been led by Cody Pamperin (So., RHP, Shakopee, Minn./Golf and Turf Management), who has a 3.24 ERA in 8.1 innings out of the pen this season.

Upper Iowa has been led on the season by Eric Cottrell, who is hitting .429 with eight runs scored, five doubles and 10 RBI's. In addition to Cottrell, Alex George is hitting .339 with 13 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple, one home run and 13 RBI's.

On the mound, the Peacocks have looked to Zach Carstens, who is 0-2 with a 4.32 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched. Out of the bullpen, Ross Kulick has led the way with a 1-0 mark and a 2.57 ERA in 7.0 innings pitched, with four saves on the year.
