CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston women's basketball team will take on University of Sioux Falls Friday at 6 p.m. and Southwest Minnesota State University Saturday and 4 p.m. at Lysaker Gymnasium in Crookston, Minn.

The UMC women's basketball team enters the weekend in a three-way tie for third place in the NSIC North as they battle for a spot to host the first round of the NSIC Tournament. The Golden Eagles are 9-11 (8-8 NSIC) and are coming off a split last weekend with Upper Iowa University and Winona State University. Minnesota Crookston has been led this season by guard Alexa Thielman, who is averaging 16.9 points per game, while Katrina Moenkedick is averaging 14.0 points per game.

Sioux Falls comes into the weekend with a 14-6 (10-6 NSIC) mark and is currently in fourth in the NSIC South. The Cougars have been led by guard Jaicee Ulmer, who is averaging 12.2 points per game, while point guard Taylor Varsho, a Colorado State transfer, is averaging 11.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

Southwest Minnesota State is 3-17 (3-13 NSIC) on the season and is currently in eighth in the NSIC South. The Mustangs are led on the season by guard Annessa Rosch, who is averaging 12.3 points per game, while forward Hope Bonlander is averaging 7.7 points per game.
