CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team will hit the road for five games this weekend in Miles City, Mont. as they take on Dickinson State University. The games were scheduled to be played in Beatrice, Neb., but were moved to Tedesco Field in Miles City, Mont. due to Miles City having a better weather forecast. The Golden Eagles will play at 1 and 3 p.m. (C.T.) Fri., Feb. 27, 1 and 3 pm., Sat., Feb. 28 and 1 p.m., Sun., March 1.

Minnesota Crookston comes in with a 1-3 mark but the Golden Eagles have been in three of four games this year with an opportunity to win three games in the ninth inning. MC has been led on the season by freshman Ethan Mushitz (IF, East Grand Forks, Minn./Criminal Justice), who is hitting .500 with two runs scored and one RBI and a .643 on-base percentage. In addition to Mushitz, Ryan Haggstrom (Jr., 1B/P, Apple Valley, Minn./Accounting) comes in hitting .375 with three runs scored and four RBI's. Jesse Jennings (Sr., OF, Robbinsdale, Minn./Criminal Justice) is also hitting .375 with one run scored and one RBI.

On the mound, UMC has been led by Nolan Wahlberg (Jr., RHP, Blaine, Minn./Criminal Justice), who is 1-0 with a 1.00 earned runs average (ERA) in nine innings pitched. Richie Navratil (Sr., RHP, Blansko, Czech Republic/Management) comes in with an 0-1 mark and a 0.00 ERA in two innings with one save. Alan Frank (Sr., RHP, St. Michael, Minn./Applied Studies) is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA in six innings pitched.

Dickinson State will officially lift the lid on the 2015 season with their games against the Golden Eagles. The NAIA affilaite went 12-40 on the 2014 season. The Blue Hawks are led at the plate by Jeff VanCleave, who hit .280 with 14 runs scored and six RBI's last season. On the mound, Chas Allen returns after going 2-5 with a 7.41 ERA in eight starts last season.
