CROOKSTON, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Crookston men's basketball team will wrap up their 2014-15 home slate Fri., Feb. 20 and Sat., Feb. 21 as they host Northern State University and No. 8 Minnesota State University Moorhead. The Golden Eagles will take on the Wolves at 8 p.m. Fri., Feb. 20 and the Dragons Sat., Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
The UMC men's basketball team enters the weekend with a 7-17 (5-15 NSIC) mark. The Golden Eagles have been led on the season by
Derrick Redd, Jr., who comes in averaging 11.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Senior
Tyler West, Jr. is averaging 10.1 points and 6.7 rebounds. UMC can still match their NSIC-best wins mark of nine with at-least three games left on the season.
The Northern State men are in second place in the NSIC North with a 19-7 (13-7 NSIC) mark and are coming off a pair of losses to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State. The Wolves are led by 6-6 forward Seth Bachand, who is averaging 13.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. In addition to Bachand, guard Tydan Storrusten from Pelican Rapids, is averaging 12.2 points per game.
The Dragons are ranked No. 9 in the nation. MSU Moorhead is 27-2 (18-2 NSIC) on the season. The Dragons are led by Jordan Riewer, who comes in averaging 17.1 points per game, while 6-9 forward Isaac Sevlie, is averaging 13.2 points per game.
