#Tidbits- The Golden Eagles started the season by going 1-1 with a loss to Waldorf and a win over Wisconsin-Stout. UMC has started off the season strong from beyond the arc, shooting 40.4 percent (21-of-52). The Golden Eagles have been led by
Ben Grygiel's 62.5 percent, while
Derrick Redd, Jr. is shooting 55.6 percent from beyond the arc and
Chase Knickerbocker is shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc.
- UMC has 10 newcomers to the 2015-16 roster, along with 12 players who had not played a game of Division II basketball before the Waldorf game. UMC's lone returnees who saw action last season are senior
Derrick Redd, Jr. and
Jim Warmack. Redd led the Golden Eagles with 11.4 points per game as a junir, while Warmack came off the bench for 12.3 minutes per game and averaged 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.
- The Golden Eagles had four players who were Top 50 recruits in the state of Minnesota in 2015. The group is led by
Kobe Critchley from Roseville,
Nate Lorenz from Breckenridge,
Chase Knickerbocker from Annandale and
Connor Gamble from Stillwater. The first three will play prominent roles in their first seasons in the Maroon and Gold, while Gamble will redshirt for UMC.
- UMC also added four junior college recruits with North Platte Community College products

Riley Rice and Rock Valley College product

- Valley City State has opened the 2015-16 season with a 4-0 mark overall. The Vikings are led by transfers. Darryl Howell leads the team with 18 points per game while shooting 38.5 percent from beyond the arc. In addition, fellow junior college transfers Justyn Galloway and Nygel Drury have been strong, Galloway is averaging 13.5 points and 5.8 rebounds, while Drury is averaging 13.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Williston High Schiool product Jayden Ferguson is averaging 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
- The Vikings have been a strong scoring team thus far, averaging 97.3 points per game, while giving up just 71.8 points per game to their opponents.
- Wisconsin-Superior enters the weekend with an 0-1 overall mark. The Yellow Jackets return a lot from last season's roster. They are led by Zach Schradle, who is averaging 24.0 points and 10.0 rebounds so far. In addition, post Brian Lindblom has been strong with 15 points and six boards, while Nate Kalien is averaging 9.0 points per game. The Yellow Jackets are averaging 61.0 percent, while giving up 69.0 points per game. Wisconsin-Superior is shooting 46.2 percent from beyond the arc.
- Wisconsin-River Falls is 0-3 entering the weekend. The Falcons have been led thus far by Jon Christensen, who is averaging 15.3 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game. In addition to Christensen, Garret Pearson comes in averaging 14.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. The Falcons are averaging 64.0 points per game, while giving up 87 points per game to opponents.
