CROOKSTON, Minn. - Regal's Rundown with Josh Brehmer sits down with Head Softball Coach Ed Deugan and men's basketball player John Hughes. Brehmer and Deugan discuss how the 2014 season went for the softball program, while Brehmer and Hughes focus on the new hire of Men's Basketball Coach Dan Weisse and his plans for offseason conditioning.

In the first segment, Brehmer and Deugan start out by talking about how season went. They then talk about what Deugan's plan is for recruiting for the Summer and his overall goals for recruiting. They finish up talking about seniors Ashley Manusos, Paige Schaust and Cateline Fafard.

In the second segment, Brehmer talks to Hughes about the excitement around the program with the hire of new Head Coach Dan Weisse. They then talk about Hughes' conditioning plans and what he wants to work on during the Summer in preparation of the 2014-15 season. The pair then discuss heatedly the NBA playoffs and who each think will win the title.

Regal's Rundown will be posted to goldeneaglesports.com and youtube.com/goldeneagleathletics every Wednesday, or Thursday if scheduling permits. Regal's Rundown gives UMC fans a chance to better get to know UMC athletic department staff and student-athletes.

Next's weeks guest will be Director of Athletics Stephanie Helgeson and a student-athlete to be determined. It will also be the final "Regal's Rundown" that Josh Brehmer will host, as he will graduate with a degree in Communications from UMC May 10. Brehmer has done an outstanding job as an intern in the Sports Information Department this season and is someone with a lot of promise moving forward in whatever career avenue he will pursue.
