CROOKSTON, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team will play Concordia University, St. Paul at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tues., April 15. The games have been moved from the UMC Baseball Field in Crookston, Minn. to St. Paul, Minn., due to low temperatures in Northwest Minnesota. The games will be played at Barnes Field in St. Paul, Minn.
The Golden Eagles come into the week with a 1-29 (0-18 NSIC) record. Minnesota Crookston continues to seek their first conference victory of the season as they head to Concordia Tuesday. UMC continues to be led at the plate by
Ryan Haggstrom (So., C/1B/P, Apple Valley, Minn./Accounting), who is batting .358 with 16 runs scored and 12 RBI's. Haggstrom has five doubles and one triple on the year.
In addition to Haggstrom,
Patrick Higgins (So., OF, Eagan, Minn./Criminal Justice) comes in with a .272 average, 13 runs scored and four RBI's.
On the mound, UMC is led by
Richie Navratil (Sr., P, Blankso, Czech Republic/Sports and Rec Management). Navratil is 0-6 with a 7.75 ERA in 38.1 innings pitched.
Concordia-St. Paul enters the weekend with a 16-8 (8-6 NSIC) mark on the season. Kyle Dalton leads the way for the Golden Bears with a .441 batting average, 24 runs scored and 14 RBI's. In addition to Dalton, Eric Fasnacht comes in with a .418 batting average, 21 runs scored and 13 RBI's.
On the mound, Zach Rengel paces Concordia with a 4-1 mark and a 1.25 ERA in 36 innings pitched. John Hayes and Tyler Brekke were the mid-week starters for the Golden Bears last week. Hayes is 2-1 with a 4.71 ERA in 21.0 innings pitched. Brekke is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 21.0 innings pitched.
