CROOKSTON, Minn.- The University of Minnesota Crookston baseball team will take on University of Sioux Falls Sun., March 23 and Mon., March 24 in South Sioux City, Neb. The Golden Eagles will take on the Cougars Sunday at 12 and 2 p.m. at Voss Field in South Sioux City and Monday 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Voss Field.

The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with an overall mark of 1-11 with their lone victory coming on their Spring Break Trip last week in Clearwater, Fla. over Hillsdale College. UMC just returned from playing five games in Florida.

The Golden Eagles are led at the plate by Ryan Haggstrom (So., C/1B/P, Apple Valley, Minn./Accounting), who is batting .422 with nine runs scored and four RBI's this season. In addition, Patrick Higgins (Fr., OF, Eagan, Minn./Criminal Justice) comes in hitting  .333 with eight runs scored and one RBI. Also, Marcus Campbell (So., OF/P, St. Croix Falls, Wis./Golf and Turf Management) is batting .297 with four runs scored and seven RBI's.

On the mound, UMC has been led by Richie Navratil (Sr., P, Blansko, Czech Republic/Sports and Rec Management), who is 0-3 with a 5.66 ERA in three starts this season with 20.2 innings pitched and eight strikeouts. The Golden Eagles have also got solid relief performances from Cayden Barta (Fr., P, Fargo, N.D./Criminal Justice), who has a 2.25 ERA in four innings pitched and Ryan Paasch (Sr., P, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sports and Rec Management), who has a 4.50 ERA in eight innings pitched.

Sioux Falls is 6-7 on the season. They are just coming off their Spring Break trip to Irvine, Calif. The Cougars went 2-4 during their trip with wins over Concordia-Irvine and CSU-San Marcos. Sioux Falls has been led on the year by Noah Durkin, who is hitting .420 with eight runs scored and five RBI's. On the mound, Sioux Falls is led by Elijah Thornquist, who is 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA in 13.1 innings pitched with two starts this season. In addition to Thornquist, Derek Fischer is 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 21.2 innings pitched.
