MARSHALL, Minn.- The Golden Eagle soccer team closed out another road conference weekend with 2-0 loss at Southwestern Minnesota State University in Marshall, Sunday afternoon. The 1-1 weekend sets UMC's overall record at 5-4-3, 4-3-2 in NSIC play.
The Mustang's Miranda Cadena (Highland, Calif.) scored the only goal of the opening half as she netted her league leading 11
th tally. SMSU outshot the Golden Eagles 5-1 in the period and 15-1 in the game. UMC sophomore keeper,
Lexie Gauger (Green Bay, Wisc./Criminal Justice) was busy in net making five total saves and allowing two goals. Frosh midfielder,
Beth Lastovich (White Bear Lake, Minn./Health Science) got the lone shot off for UMC as her chance came midway through the first period.
The Golden Eagles will play their next four games at home where they have a record of 3-1. The first match will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday when Minnesota State University Moorhead comes to Crookston.
