UMC Women’s Soccer Team Closes Out 2013 Season with Split NSIC Series

(Crookston, Minn.) – The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Women's Soccer team closes out the 2013 season with a pair of split NSIC matches next weekend. UMC will host St. State University (SCSU) on Friday, November 1 at 3 p.m. They then travel to the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) on Sunday, November 3 for a 1 p.m. match.

The Golden Eagles hold an overall record of 3-9-4 and NSIC record of 1-8-4 after battling to a pair of 0-0 double overtime ties this past weekend. UMC tied Minot State University on Saturday and the University of Mary on Sunday.

Lexi Gauger (Fr, GK, Green Bay, Wis./Criminal Justice) was stout in net recording 220 scoreless minutes on the weekend with eight saves. She has also recorded her fourth shutout of the season. Gauger has a 1.07 goals against average and a .828 saves percentage.

Rachelle Alcini (Jr, D, Ann Arbor, Mich./Health Sciences) anchored a back line that only allowed eight shots on goal over the 220 minutes played.
Nikki Hammond (Sr, F, Nelson, Minn./Health Sciences), Kallie Gau (Fr, M, Monticello, Minn/Early Childhood Education) and Delaney McIntyre (So, M, Flin Flon, Manitoba/Sport and Recreation Management) all have four points on the season. Hammond and Gau have each scored two goals while McIntyre has scored one goal and added two assists. Rachel Halligan (Sr, D, Duluth, Minn./Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education) and Kelah Peterson (Jr, F, Bismarck, N.D./Elementary Education) have each scored one goal and added one assist for three points. 

UMC will bid farewell to six seniors. In addition to Hammond and Halligan, the Golden Eagles will say goodbye to Drew Underdahl (Sr, GK, Zumbro Falls, Minn./Agricultural Business), Sammy Berglin (Sr, D, Alexandria, Minn./Criminal Justice), Amanda Crook (Sr, F, Brandon, Manitoba/Agricultural Business) and Ashleigh Erdmann (Sr, GK, Crookston, Minn./Health Sciences)

Golden Eagles vs. St. Cloud State University                                           Friday, November 1                                3 p.m.

The Huskies have an overall record of 8-7-1 and NSIC record of 5-7-1 after dropping a 1-0 match to Northern State University and defeating Minnesota State University Moorhead 4-1. Kara Dahmen has scored three goals and added eight assists for 14 points. Brittany Plombon has a 1.68 goals against average and a .799 saves percentage.

The Bulldogs have an overall record of 12-3-0 and NSIC record of 11-2-0 after defeating Minnesota State University Moorhead 3-0 and Northern State University 2-1. UMD is led by Maureen Stormont who has scored 12 goals with four assists for 28 points and Dani Potter who has scored ten goals with seven assists for 27 points. Marissa Rosa has a 1.05 goals against average and a .781 saves percentage.
