(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Baseball team hosts six Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) games this week at the UMC Baseball field. The Golden Eagles host the University of Mary (U-Mary) on Wednesday, April 11 at 1:30 p.m. Defending NCAA Division II National Runner-Up Winona State University (WSU) visits Crookston on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15. The doubleheaders will begin at 1 p.m. and 12 p.m. respectively.

U of M, Crookston holds an overall record of 8-17 and NSIC record of 3-9 after going 1-4 last week. The Golden Eagles dropped a 15-3 non-conference decision at Concordia-Moorhead on Tuesday. They went 1-3 against Augustana College on Thursday and Friday. U of M, Crookston split on Thursday losing 13-3 and winning 2-0. They went 0-2 on Friday losing 2-0 in eight innings and losing 10-0.

The Golden Eagles are led by Matt Korte (So, RHP/3B/OF, St. Cloud, Minn.) who is hitting .422 (19-45). Josh Brehmer (So, 2B, Roseville, Minn.) is hitting .364 (32-88) with 13 runs batted in (RBI). Jordan Osmundson (Fr, OF/SS, East Grand Forks, Minn.) is hitting .346 (27-78) with nine RBI. Charlie Pelzer (So, SS, Roseville, Minn.) is hitting .333 (26-78) with nine RBI. Nick Kelzer (So, RHP, Delano, Minn.) is 2-1 with a 3.55 earned run average (ERA) with 16 strikeouts. Joe Miller (Fr, RHP, Winona, Minn.) is 0-2 with three saves, a 3.71 ERA and 14 strikeouts. Matt Korte (So, RHP, St. Cloud, Minn.) is 2-4 with a 6.21 ERA and 19 strikeouts.

Golden Eagles vs. University of Mary            Wednesday, April 11 (2)        1:30 p.m.

The Marauders have an overall record of 3-25 and NSIC record of 2-12 after splitting with Northern State University on Tuesday (2-0/5-10) and dropping four games against Minnesota State University on Friday and Saturday (1-6/1-11/2-6/4-15). U-Mary is led by James Carroll who is hitting .365 (23-63) with nine RBI. Sam Salveson is 1-0 with 3.86 ERA and five strikeouts.

The Warriors have an overall record of 12-13 and NSIC record of 7-7 after going 4-2 last week. WSU split a doubleheader with Upper Iowa University on Tuesday (6-7/13-1). They split a doubleheader at Northern State University on Friday (2-0/7-8) before exploding for 15 homeruns in a doubleheader sweep of the Wolves on Saturday (16-9/35-6). They are led by Adam Gemuenden who is hitting .362 (21-58) with two homeruns and nine RBI. Cody Strang is hitting .352 (32-91) with three homeruns and 22 RBI. Kodey Simon is 3-3 with a 3.08 ERA and 23 strikeouts.
